Open House February, 2001 St. Petersburg, FL - On Wednesday, February 21st, Affordable Memorials held an open house at their new retail store, located at 689-9th Street North in St. Petersburg. This function served as their official grand opening and was attended by many individuals within the community as well as several dignitaries. As you enter the store, which is located in a restored building in the downtown area, you have the feeling of entering a department store or other typical retail environment. Unlike many of your more typical monument companies, Affordable Memorials has gone to great efforts to insure their clients are comfortable in their surroundings. As the store's manager Cheryl Paul noted, ''We truly believe that first impressions are what count. Our clients do not make these kinds of purchases every day and they can sometimes be extremely emotional purchases. Therefore, we feel we can alleviate some of the anxiety they may be feeling by creating a pleasing environment, one in which they are more accustom.'' In addition to the traditional bronze, granite and marble markers and monuments found in typical monument companies, Affordable Memorials carries a wide array of products to meet every customers needs. As John McQueen, President of the company, explained to guests, ''we provide more than just monuments, we preserve the memories of today for the generations of tomorrow. In fact, in additional to our markers and monuments, we specialize in items such as custom address plaques, bronze baby shoes, flag and display cases, garden treasures and more. Basically, we try very hard to help those we serve preserve and cherish the memories of major events within their lives, whether it be the birth of a child, the purchase of a home, a promotion at work, or the loss of a loved one.'' Affordable Memorials is open Monday through Friday from 9AM until 4PM and on Saturdays by appointment. Stop by and visit, it is truly a unique experience. |
